Mako Shark Fossil Tooth - Cosmopolitodus hastalis

Period: Neogene Period (Miocene - Pliocene epoch) - ca. 23 to 2 million years ago

 

Cosmopolitodus hastalis (previously as Isurus hastalis), is an extinct species of mackerel shark that lived from the Miocene epoch to the Pliocene epoch. Its common names include, the broad-tooth mako, extinct giant mako and broad-tooth white shark. Beautiful dark and shiny fossil teeth are offered.
